Post Title: District Wide Temporary Cleaners
The Joe Gqabi District Municipality is recruiting a pool of temporary cleaners across multiple towns including Burgersdorp, Ventersdorp, Steynsburg, Maletswai, James Calata, Lady Grey, Sterkspruit, Barkly East, Ugie, Nqanqarhu, and Tlokoeng.
Successful candidates will be placed on a database and may be called upon when needed for temporary assignments. These assignments will not exceed three months per contract and may run over a period of up to 12 months.
Remuneration
- Salary: R10 616 per month (all-inclusive)
- Pro-rata payment applies if employed for less than a full month
- No additional benefits
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 9 or equivalent qualification
- Ability to communicate in one or more official languages
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently
Core Responsibilities
Cleaning Duties
- Cleaning offices, boardrooms, reception areas, and recreational rooms
- Dusting, polishing, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning floors and windows
- Emptying waste bins and maintaining cleanliness
General Duties
- Ensuring availability of cleaning supplies
- Watering office plants
- Washing tablecloths and towels
Tea Making
- Preparing and serving refreshments
- Cleaning kitchen utensils and crockery
- Managing stock for refreshments
Venues and Catering
- Preparing venues for meetings
- Cleaning and dusting
- Switching lights, heaters, and air conditioners on/off
- Assisting with catering services
- Securing venues after meetings
- Perform any other duties delegated by management
