The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) invites qualified and experienced individuals to apply for a permanent technical position in the Gauteng Region. If you are passionate about the regulation and enforcement of radio frequency spectrum usage, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to national communications compliance. Job Level: C3
Department: Regions & Consumer Affairs
Position Status: Permanent
Salary: R516,622.00 – R645,778.00 Total Annual Package (CTC)
Reports To: Regional Manager: Gauteng


Requirements

  • National Diploma in Electrical, Electronic or Information Engineering (NQF Level 6)
  • BSc / BTech / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (advantageous)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a radio frequency environment
  • Experience in radio frequency interference investigations (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in electronic test equipment and measurements
  • High-level computer literacy
  • Valid driver’s licence

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve harmful radio frequency spectrum interference
  • Conduct audits and site inspections of radio frequency installations
  • Evaluate compliance with license terms under ECA and ICASA regulations
  • Conduct enforcement actions, including warrant executions and apparatus seizure
  • Compile affidavits and present findings to magistrates or judges
  • Appear before the Complaints and Compliance Committee (CCC) to present evidence
  • Engage in technical measurement and compliance reporting activities
