Post Title: Senior Manager: School Qualifications
Business Unit: Quality Assurance of Assessment (QAA)
Salary: R1,253,601 per annum (All-inclusive package, SL13 Notch 3)
Reference: QAA/03/01
Requirements:
- Honours degree in an education-related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience
- At least 7 years’ experience in the quality assurance and management of National Senior Certificate (NSC) assessments
- Strong conceptual, written, verbal, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Additional Advantages:
- Master’s degree in Education
- Knowledge of national and international education systems
- Experience in managing or quality assuring large-scale assessments
- Familiarity with pre-standardised testing is a strong plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all quality assurance processes related to national school examinations
- Develop and implement policies and strategies
- Manage the Quality Assurance of Assessment (Schools) Unit
- Engage with stakeholders, including public/private assessment bodies and media
- Oversee unit’s strategic plan, audit, and risk management
- Lead change management, budgeting, and performance reporting
- Plan resources and manage staff development
- Collaborate across Umalusi departments
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Manager or CEO
