Salary:
R356 261.52 – R462 450.15 per annum plus benefits.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Recognized Trade Test as Electrician
- Qualification in high voltage operations and construction including switching, phasing, fault finding and safety
- 3–5 years relevant post apprenticeship experience in a similar position
- At least 12 months supervisory experience
- Valid Code B driver’s licence
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a Driver Competency Test.
Other Requirements
Candidates should have:
- Ability to handle hydraulic lifting and pneumatic equipment
- Experience with high voltage pressure testing and cable fault finding equipment
- Supervisory skills
- Good human relations and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- High level of responsibility
- Sound oral and written communication skills in at least two Western Cape official languages including English, Afrikaans and Xhosa
- Hydraulic Crane Certification will serve as an added advantage
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Coordinating specialised electrical installation, maintenance and repair tasks
- Supervising support personnel and monitoring productivity
- Coordinating maintenance and construction of power network systems
- Managing electrical distribution network installations
- Conducting planned and predictive maintenance
- Performing administrative record keeping
- Operating vehicles and equipment during maintenance and repair activities
Added Advantage
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Experience as a Senior Electrician in a municipality
- 12 months supervisory experience in a municipal environment
