Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant postgraduate certificate
- National Technical Certificate (Mechanical or Auto Electrical)
- Trade tested or Artisan-related qualification
- Proven track record of success
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years in workshop management (fleet/bus/coach operations & maintenance)
- At least 5 years at supervisory level
Added Advantage:
- Certificate or Diploma in Technical or Transport-related qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and execute maintenance of buses and equipment
- Manage contracts, tyre maintenance, and unplanned breakdowns
- Oversee asset control, servicing schedules, and fleet inspections
- Implement preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory policies
- Maintain detailed maintenance and repair records
- Conduct liaison meetings with Organised Labour
- Manage human, physical, and financial resources effectively
Training & Knowledge:
- Workshop procedures and fleet maintenance
- Bus industry and transport legislation
- General management and leadership
