Remuneration: In accordance with National Treasury tariffs
Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification: NQF Level 8 in Risk Management, Accounting, Auditing, MBA, or related fields
- Professional Accreditations: IRMSA, IIA, ISACA, CRMA, CIA, or CA(SA)
- Experience: At least 5 years serving on Audit or Risk Management Committees; prior Chairperson experience is advantageous
- Skills Required:
- Analytical thinking and independent judgment
- Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, ISO 31000, COSO, King Reports
- Effective communication and ability to challenge assumptions
- Commitment to transparency, ethics, and good governance
- Must be independent with no employment or business ties to the department
Duties:
- Serve as an advisory body to the Accounting Officer on risk management
- Ensure alignment of risk practices to the department’s strategic goals
- Evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation processes
- Ensure proper implementation and review of governance documents
- Operate in terms of the committee’s approved Terms of Reference
