Post Title: Personal Assistant

  • Salary: R267,989.35 – R347,854.50 per annum (T9) + Municipal Benefits
  • Term: Contract aligned with the term of office of the current Speaker

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and/or relevant Secretarial Certificate
  • 2–5 years relevant experience (including supervisory experience)
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Valid driver’s license (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in at least two official Western Cape languages
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain confidentiality
  • Good telephone etiquette, typing, and report writing skills
  • Strong time management and planning skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Office of the Speaker
  • Prepare, manage, and safeguard official correspondence and documents
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and the Speaker’s diary
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, councillors, and external service providers
  • Manage travel, accommodation, and business arrangements
  • Maintain office efficiency through standard operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with administrative processes and reporting deadlines
  • Stay updated on developments relevant to the role
