Requirements
Applicants must have a qualification at NQF Level 6 in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Multimedia Production, Information Technology or Communication.
No experience is required.
Applicants must have knowledge and understanding of multimedia and computer graphics packages.
Applicants must have knowledge and understanding of Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop.
Applicants must have knowledge of typography and printing.
Applicants must be proficient in the use of an Apple Macintosh computer.
Knowledge of InDesign and web 3-D skills will be required.
Applicants must have strong design skills and knowledge of desktop publishing.
Required skills include communication, presentation, computer literacy, typing, project management, research, editing, creativity, problem-solving, analytical thinking and good organising ability.
Duties
The successful candidate will design brochures and publications.
Duties include designing corporate gift packages and covers to enhance the corporate image of the Department.
The candidate will create layouts for departmental calendars.
The successful candidate will create graphs and charts for publications.
Additional duties include keeping web content images for the Departmentโs website up to date and assisting with the development of communication material.
The candidate will design graphic images and visual elements for websites, interactive media and multimedia projects.
The successful candidate will design graphics, images and animations in various formats.
The role also includes providing final artwork for production, designing layouts according to branch needs and preparing sketches by hand or with the aid of a computer.
The candidate will assist with photography according to departmental needs, including indoor and outdoor photography.
Additional responsibilities include designing graphics, images and virtual elements for social media pages, ensuring colours and artwork are available and maintaining equipment such as computers, software, digital and electronic aids.
