Requirements

Applicants must have an undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 6 as recognised by SAQA in Political Sciences, Public Management and Administration or a related field.

Duties

The successful candidate will provide support services for parliamentary matters, portfolio-selected committees and Cabinet matters.

Duties include coordinating multiple parliamentary and Cabinet workstreams, tracking deadlines and following up with branches to ensure timely submissions.

The candidate will coordinate departmental interaction with parliamentary committees and provide administrative and technical support to departmental delegations attending briefings and committee meetings.

The successful candidate will manage the drafting, quality assurance and submission of departmental responses to parliamentary questions posed to the Minister of Home Affairs.

Additional duties include coordinating departmental responses to parliamentary and Cabinet enquiries, coordinating inputs for Cabinet memoranda, monitoring implementation of Cabinet and committee decisions, maintaining tracking systems and escalating risks or delays.

The role also includes developing and reviewing communication policies, implementing governance processes, ensuring audit compliance and managing human, physical and financial resources in the unit.

The successful candidate will implement physical verification of assets and maintain movement, condition and location records for moveable assets.

Additional duties include investigating missing, lost, stolen or damaged assets, reporting cases to the Loss Control Committee, recording write-offs, disposals and asset losses and maintaining the moveable lease register.

The role also includes generating reports for National Treasury and business owners, implementing risk and compliance management and ensuring effective management of human, physical and financial resources.

Additional duties include monitoring service level agreements between the front office and the unit, implementing control measures to prevent corruption and non-financial losses, liaising with Government Printing Works and other stakeholders and managing filing or disposal of undelivered or incomplete identity documents.

The role also includes maintaining records, implementing risk and compliance practices, managing resources and guiding staff on best practices and regulatory compliance.
