Operations Administration Officer Ref No: OPSA: 06/05/2026

The Operations Administration Officer will report to the Senior Operations Manager. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the Operations Department at Gateway Airports Authority Limited.

Requirements

Applicants must have Grade 12 and a minimum Diploma in Administration or a relevant qualification in Office Administration, Public Administration or Business Management at NQF Level 6.

Candidates must have at least three years’ experience in Aviation or Operations Administration.

Experience in office administration, with the ability to promote the image of the company and manage time effectively, is essential. Experience in administration in a senior office environment will be an added advantage.

A valid driver’s licence is essential.

Competencies and Skills

Applicants must have knowledge and understanding of office administration.

Required skills include organisational skills, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, assertiveness, diligence, time management, task orientation, ability to multi-task, confidentiality, report writing, written and verbal communication, problem-solving, minute-taking, diary management and travel arrangement skills.

Applicants must also demonstrate accountability, ethical conduct, ability to work under pressure and meet timelines.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

Duties

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Senior Operations Manager and the Operations Management team.

Key duties include ensuring that rosters, timesheets, schedules, databases and statistical information are accurate and up to date.

The candidate will also maintain filing systems, perform general administrative duties, prepare reports, liaise with stakeholders and clients, arrange meetings and workshops, prepare agendas, take minutes, verify supplier invoices and forward them to the accounts department.

Other duties include implementing new procedures and administrative systems, procuring office requirements, preparing packs and arranging training logistics for the Operations Department.
