Post Title: Revenue Accountant (X2)

Purpose of the Job

The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for managing Rand Water’s revenue streams and accounts receivable processes. The role involves producing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with legislation, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and trial balance.

Requirements

  • 3-year National Diploma or equivalent (majoring in Accounting)
  • BCom Accounting qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounting environment
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit management or credit control

Primary Duties

  • Manage billing for all Rand Water revenue streams
  • Maintain debtors age analysis and monitor cash flows
  • Oversee water accounts and collections
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, VAT, Water Services Act, and other legislation
  • Assist with Expected Credit Losses and legal recovery processes
  • Resolve revenue and accounts receivable issues
  • Conduct credit risk assessments and manage customer accounts
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and maintain strong relationships
  • Support financial reporting for revenue and receivables
