Requirements

Applicants should be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification. No previous experience is required. A valid driver’s licence will serve as an added advantage.

Applicants should also have knowledge of Public Service prescripts, relevant legislation and regulations including the PFMA and Treasury Regulations, the Public Service Act, PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS and Batho Pele Principles. Good computer literacy in MS Word and MS Excel, communication skills, financial management, interpersonal skills, planning, organising, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical ability and report writing skills are required.

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing and administering payments to creditors, administering payroll and salary-related claims, capturing petty cash, and compiling expenditure reports such as invoice and payment registers, fleet reconciliations and RT5 courier services reports.

Typist Ref No: 2026/02/OCJ

Salary: R193 359 – R227 766 per annum (Level 04)
Centre: Eastern Cape Division of the High Court: Mthatha

Requirements

Applicants should be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification. A minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute is required. A valid driver’s licence will be an added advantage.

Candidates must have knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, rules and the court environment, counter services, filing systems, legislation governing the Public Service, Batho Pele Principles, and computer literacy in MS Word. Good communication skills, interpersonal relations, planning and organising skills, problem-solving ability, accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, time keeping and telephone etiquette are also required.

Duties

The successful candidate will type appeals, reviews, reports, minutes, circulars, notices of set down, witness statements, taxing master reports, affidavits, memorandums and court orders. The post also includes relieving administrative staff where necessary, filing, opening files, making appointments, dealing with public queries, compiling term rolls, week rolls and unopposed or opposed motion rolls, maintaining registers, and submitting relevant orders and judgments to stakeholders.
