Post Title: Security Officer x4 (Permanent)
Salary: R299 179.75 CTC per annum

Reporting to: Manager: Protection Services
Location: Head Office, Pretoria
Job Purpose
To provide security services through safeguarding buildings, managing access control, and ensuring the safety of personnel and assets in line with prescribed security procedures and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Access Control
- Verify visitor appointments and direct them accordingly
- Maintain admission control registers and issue access cards
- Escort visitors when required
- Operate X-ray machines (where applicable)
- Monitor and control entry and exit points
- Identify and report suspicious activities
- Prevent unauthorised access and dangerous goods
Safety and Security Management
- Conduct routine patrols of buildings and premises
- Check for hazards such as fire risks, water leaks, and electrical faults
- Respond to alarms (fire, panic, burglar)
- Apply emergency evacuation procedures
- Provide security during special events
Asset and Personnel Protection
- Monitor movement of equipment and assets
- Prevent unauthorised removal of property
- Inspect vehicles entering and leaving premises
- Report missing or stolen equipment
- Handle classified documents appropriately
Compliance and Reporting
- Record incidents in occurrence books/registers
- Ensure compliance with National Key Point (Critical Infrastructure) requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- PSIRA Grade C certificate
- Valid firearm competency certificate
Experience and Knowledge
- 2–3 years’ experience as a Security Officer
- Knowledge of access control procedures
- Understanding of asset control and movement procedures
- Knowledge of security legislation and regulations
- Familiarity with emergency procedures
- Basic understanding of the National Key Point (Critical Infrastructure Protection) Act
