Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum: Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9) in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Language Practice, or a related field.
    • Alternatively: Doctorate (NQF Level 10) in the relevant field.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of teaching or relevant industry experience in language practice, translation, or interpreting.
  • Skills:
    • Strong administrative and assessment capabilities
    • Ability to use online marking tools and digital platforms (Moodle experience is advantageous)
    • Advanced communication skills, especially in English
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and meet strict deadlines

Technical Requirements:

  • Computer or laptop with internet access (no equipment or data will be provided)
  • Digital literacy and familiarity with online learning environments
  • Commitment to training on Moodle marking systems (training is compulsory)

Duties:

  • Marking assignments and exams fairly and consistently
  • Providing constructive feedback
  • Adhering to UNISA’s assessment policies, procedures, and deadlines
  • Participating in marker meetings and submitting reports
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times

    • SAQA evaluation report for foreign qualifications (if applicable)
