Salary:R60 978.62 per month (basic salary, excluding benefits)

Position Overview: Sub Unit Head: Children’s Services Programme

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with a relevant Degree in Child Development, Education, Community Development, Social Sciences (NQF Level 7)
  • Postgraduate degree (advantageous)
  • 3 years’ experience in a child development environment
  • 7–9 years in social development, with 6 years in management
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence

Key Skills & Knowledge:

  • Child development, programme design and implementation
  • Local government and financial management legislation
  • Staff management, stakeholder engagement, and reporting
  • Computer literacy, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and oversee the City-wide implementation of the Children’s Services Programme (ages 0–18)
  • Align programmes with legal and policy frameworks
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on programme effectiveness
  • Oversee budgeting, project execution, and compliance
  • Build strategic partnerships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Lead the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure performance management and support staff development
