Post Title: Community Liaison Officer (Re-advertisement)
Purpose of the Role:
To foster and maintain positive relationships between the SANPC Refinery and surrounding communities. The successful candidate will drive stakeholder engagement, manage community concerns, and support corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric and National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Public Relations, Social Sciences, Communications, or Development Studies.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or public affairs; 3 years must involve similar responsibilities.
- Experience working in the oil, gas, or industrial sector is advantageous.
- A Degree (NQF Level 7) in a relevant field is an added advantage.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of community development and stakeholder engagement practices
- CSR awareness and local knowledge of Durban communities
- Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and networking skills
- Report writing and Microsoft Office proficiency
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact between the refinery and community stakeholders
- Coordinate and attend community meetings and document concerns
- Distribute newsletters and provide feedback on refinery initiatives
- Support CSR and enterprise development projects
- Maintain accurate engagement records and reports
