Purpose:

To provide legal advisory support on tax matters concerning high-net-worth individuals, including risk identification, dispute resolution, legal interpretation, and operational enhancements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • LLB or BA Law (NQF 7) + 8–10 years’ tax law experience, of which 3–4 years at middle management level, OR
  • Senior Certificate + 15 years relevant experience
  • Admitted Attorney or Advocate (mandatory)

Key Skills and Duties:

  • Tax law assessments and legal advisory.
  • Drafting legal opinions and managing compliance with tax legislation.
  • Mentoring teams and aligning operational processes to SARS legal frameworks.
  • Collaborating on complex tax structures and litigation strategies.

Programme Director – Debt Recovery

Purpose:

To lead SARS’s Debt Recovery Programme with the goal of maximising revenue collection. This executive role involves overseeing the full programme life cycle, aligning debt initiatives with strategic goals, and engaging high-level stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree (NQF 9) in Management / Project Management / Tax / Debt AND 15–18 years’ experience, with 6–8 years in senior management, OR
  • Honours Degree (NQF 8) + 18+ years’ experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee debt workstreams, set and track performance targets.
  • Implement agile and innovative debt collection strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure alignment with SARS strategy and governance standards.
