Mopani South East TVET College, located in the vibrant Phalaborwa Town, is currently seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and communicative individual to fill the position of Occupational Program Chef Facilitator for a one-year contract at the Phalaborwa Campus. Position Details:

- Salary: R244,884 – R522,735 per annum
Minimum Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification.
- Must be registered as an assessor with Cathsseta or QCTO.
- A Diploma in Culinary/Hospitality or an equivalent qualification (above or equal to a diploma level).
- At least two (2) years of experience in the hospitality industry as a chef.
- A Trade Test Certificate is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Good presentation and communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Facilitation: Facilitate learning as per the workload and curriculum.
- Assessment and Recording: Assess and record the performance of students, ensuring the completion of all required documentation.
- Program Management: Manage the learning program, monitor class activities, and ensure students are engaging in their tasks.
- Examination Invigilation: Supervise and invigilate both internal and external exams.
- Workplace Learning: Organize, prepare, and conduct workplace or simulated experiential learning for students.
- Practical Assessments: Perform kitchen practical assessments as per the curriculum requirements.
- Event Assistance: Assist with college events, catering activities, and student registration.
- Skills Teaching: Teach various culinary programs, including Chef NQF Level 5, Cook NQF Level 4, Food Handler NQF Level 2, and Kitchen Hand NQF Level 2.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about culinary arts and teaching, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced educational environment. This role also involves using technology in the delivery of teaching and learning to provide a modern and interactive classroom experience.
