Job Purpose

The Payroll and Benefits Administrator will provide efficient data processing and administration services to the payroll and benefits section.

The purpose of the role is to ensure accurate payroll records for employees and contribute to the timely and accurate payment of salaries to all staff.

Requirements

Applicants must have a Matric or Grade 12 Certificate.

Applicants must have a National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Human Resources, IT or Finance.

Applicants must have at least three yearsโ€™ operational administration experience.

Applicants must have at least three yearsโ€™ operational payroll experience.

System Skills

Applicants must have Microsoft Office skills.

SAP system knowledge is required.

Key Deliverables

The successful candidate will provide assistance to team members and supervisors when required and within their area of competence.

Duties include processing documentation according to company policies, procedures and document control principles within set timeframes.

The candidate will administer salary payments and capture or update employee personal information on the payroll system and personal file.

The successful candidate will structure employee packages by providing guidance on the application, administration and interpretation of company benefit funds and rules.

The role includes administering COIDA processes and reconciling and paying third parties such as PAYE, UIF, SDL, medical aid and provident fund.

The candidate will handle staff queries relating to salaries and payments.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with required standards and deadlines.

Duties include assisting finance and auditors with payroll-related information.

The candidate will distribute IRP5 documents to employees and former employees.

The role includes assisting with payslips when required and distributing provident fund statements and increase letters.

The successful candidate will facilitate and administer death claims and disability benefits.

The candidate will liaise with the fund and family to ensure funeral claims are paid within 24 hours.

Additional duties include loading and processing payments on the banking system.

Upon termination of employees, the candidate will ensure that withdrawal forms are sent to and received from employees and submitted within the payment period.

The candidate will check onboarding files received from recruitment and verify payroll processing files.

The successful candidate will link all new employeesโ€™ salaries and benefits on the ERP system.

The role includes leave administration to ensure employees are paid correctly.

The candidate will compile and submit the quarterly Stats SA survey.

The successful candidate will respond to audit requests and queries and ensure that employee records are maintained.

The candidate will participate in identifying risks within the area of responsibility.

The role includes building, supporting and maintaining healthy internal and external relations.

The successful candidate will provide relevant support to stakeholders to ensure team objectives are achieved.

The candidate will liaise with internal employees and external service providers on payroll issues.

The successful candidate will induct employees on payroll, benefits and IOD policies and procedures.
