Post Title: Curator Social History: Historical Archaeology

Type: Indefinite Appointment
Salary: R549 000.82 per annum (excluding benefits)

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Archaeology (specialising in the historical period)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Curatorial Studies
  • PhD in Historical Archaeology (17th to 19th centuries)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in museums, heritage, or academic environments
  • Valid driver’s licence, publication record, fieldwork and exhibition experience
  • Knowledge in GIS, project management, finance, and people management

Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement strategic archaeological research and public engagement
  • Lead collection management and exhibition development
  • Develop policy, manage risk and compliance, and deliver scholarly publications

Post Title: Assistant Curator: Art (Generalist)

Type: Indefinite Appointment
Salary: R428 611.33 per annum (excluding benefits)

Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in art, art history or similar
  • Postgraduate studies in curatorial or related field (ideal: Honours or Master’s)
  • 3 years’ museum/gallery/research experience
  • Exhibition development, public engagement, and research writing skills

Key Duties:

  • Develop and manage art collections
  • Curate exhibitions and research art history
  • Contribute to fundraising and educational outreach

Post Title: Assistant Curator: Social History

Type: Indefinite Appointment
Salary: R428 611.33 per annum (excluding benefits)

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in History, Anthropology, Museum/Heritage Studies
  • Preferably enrolled for Master’s with focus on material culture/ceramics
  • 3 years’ experience in museums or galleries
  • Strong curatorial, research, and writing skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and interpret material culture
  • Manage social history collections
  • Assist in developing exhibitions and related programming

Post Title: Supply Chain Administrator x2

Type: Definite Appointment (One Year)
Salary: R264 783.45 per annum (excluding benefits)

Requirements:

  • Matric with finance or supply chain qualification (minimum NQF 4)
  • Ideal: Diploma (NQF 5) in Supply Chain Management
  • 3 years’ relevant experience in SCM or finance
  • Familiarity with PFMA, Treasury Regulations, GRAP/IFRS

Responsibilities Include:

  • Procurement and contract administration
  • Asset, inventory, fleet, and insurance administration
  • Records management and reporting

Post Title: Customer Services Director

Type: Indefinite Appointment
Salary: R1 087 138.48 per annum (excluding benefits)

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree and advanced project management qualification
  • Experience in facilities management (heritage context)
  • Minimum 5 years’ infrastructure project management
  • Strong leadership and governance capabilities

Key Duties:

  • Lead customer services strategies and projects
  • Oversee people, risk, and financial management
  • Ensure effective communication and public engagement
