Post Title: Member – Finance and Investment Committee (FINCOM)
Minimum Requirements:
- Three-year qualification (NQF Level 6) in Accounting, Auditing, or related
- At least 8 years’ management experience in Accounting or Auditing
- 5 years’ experience in Financial Management
- 3 years’ experience serving on Finance/Investment Committees (excluding political office bearers)
- Knowledge of the Health Professions Act (1974), KING IV Corporate Governance, and IFRS
- Must not be employed by or have business/personal ties with the HPCSA
Added Advantage:
- Professional certifications such as CA(SA), ACCA, CFA, CIA, or CIMA
Responsibilities:
- Review revenue collection strategies (e.g. annual fees from health professions)
- Advise Council on investment decisions and reserve fund allocations
- Monitor investment portfolios in line with Council policy
- Review annual financial statements and ensure legislative compliance
- Promote corporate governance best practices
