Requirements
Applicants must have a Bachelorโs Degree or BCom Degree at NQF Level 7 in Auditing, Accounting, Information Systems, IT Auditing or an equivalent related qualification as recognised by SAQA.
Applicants must have at least two yearsโ experience in Internal Auditing, auditing financial statements and information systems auditing.
Experience must include IT controls, data analytics and systems environments.
Applicants must have knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations and Institute of Internal Auditors standards and guidelines.
A postgraduate qualification in Auditing, Accounting or IT Auditing will be an added advantage.
Professional certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor will be an added advantage.
Experience in auditing financial systems and IT environments, including conducting IT audits, will also be an added advantage.
Applicants must have Microsoft Office package skills.
Required competencies include verbal and written communication, customer or client focus, service delivery systems, analytical thinking, research skills, presentation skills, problem-solving, planning and organising and data analysis.
Duties
The successful candidate will plan internal audits by conducting business understanding of the audit subject.
Duties include conducting risk analysis, identifying risks, considering applicable legislative frameworks and determining audit scope and focus areas.
The candidate will execute internal audits by conducting control adequacy assessments, sampling procedures and developing audit programmes for approval by the audit manager.
The successful candidate will execute audit procedures and communicate exceptions to management.
Additional duties include developing draft audit reports, convening exit meetings and presenting findings.
The candidate will prepare audit summaries for stakeholders, highlight risk areas and track processes.
The role also includes supporting audit committee processes, maintaining audit working papers and records, coordinating responses to internal and external stakeholders and participating in audit administration activities.
