Post Title: Control Librarian
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Bibl or B Tech in Library and Information Science
- At least 3 years’ experience in a public library
- Management and communication skills
- Advanced computer literacy
- Must be willing to work Saturdays and occasional shifts
- Membership with LIASA is advantageous
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the library in line with the division’s strategic plan
- Plan and execute library programmes tailored to community needs
- Oversee public library and information services
- Manage administrative and financial functions of the library
- Supervise library staff and maintain library facilities and assets
- Liaise with communities and stakeholders to assess needs
- Evaluate library services and introduce improvements
- Provide and support electronic library services
- Catalogue and classify library media, maintain media collection profiles
