Post Title: Assistant Director: IT Support
Reference Number: 0001/2025
Salary: R444,036 per annum (Level 09)
Annual Progression: Up to R532,602 per annum (based on performance)
Requirements
- Senior Certificate
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in ICT (NQF Level 6/7)
- Additional certifications in IT support, cloud hosting, etc. (advantageous)
- 3–5 years’ experience in:
- ICT service desk and/or incident management
- Server and network support
- Infrastructure project management
- Knowledge of:
- Government ICT procurement and SITA processes
- LAN, WAN, network security, firewalls, and endpoint protection
- Transversal systems (e.g. BAS emulation servers)
- CGICTPF (2022), Public Service Policy, asset management, and innovation project support
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate ICT technical support and incident resolution
- Manage ICT infrastructure projects and upgrades (LAN/WAN/servers)
- Support and monitor network and hosted telephone systems (PABX)
- Maintain ICT infrastructure, perform backups, and ensure preventive maintenance
- Ensure SLA and operational targets are met
- Conduct user satisfaction surveys and provide service improvement feedback
- Manage in-house and hosted firewall security including spam and IP filtering
- Monitor and report on incident resolution in alignment with SLA commitments
