Complaints Officer
- Job Title: Complaints Officer
 - Paterson Grade: C1
 - Salary: R443 748 per annum (Cost to Council)
 - Job Type: Permanent
 - Purpose: To provide an efficient complaints handling service aligned with HPCSA’s mandate of protecting the public and guiding health professions.
 
Minimum Requirements:
- NQF Level 5 qualification in a health-related field
 - Current registration with a health statutory council
 - Minimum 2 years of experience handling complaints
 
Core Competencies:
- Knowledge of health legislation and complaint protocols
 - MS Office proficiency
 - Strong customer service and communication skills
 - Conflict resolution and interpersonal abilities
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle all complaints and queries received verbally, online, in writing, or in person
 - Determine if the complaint falls under HPCSA’s jurisdiction
 - Provide guidance and documentation requirements to complainants
 - Log and manage complaint records in the case management system
 - Liaise with complainants to gather complete information and request affidavits if necessary
 - Escalate high-risk cases involving immediate public danger
 - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on complaint volumes and trends
 - Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of Division
