Important Notes for Applicants
The closing date is 18 September 2026 at 16:00 for walk-in applications and 23:59 for online applications.
Applications submitted using the old Z83 form will not be considered.
Each application for each post must have its own application form.
All fields in Sections A, B, C and D of the Z83 must be completed in full.
For Sections E, F and G, applicants may indicate โrefer to CVโ or โsee attachedโ where space is limited, but the question relating to conditions that prevent re-appointment under Part F must be answered and the declaration must be signed.
Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and other related documents on or before the interview date.
Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by a SAQA evaluation report when shortlisted.
Applicants who do not comply with application instructions or submit late applications will not be considered.
All shortlisted candidates, including SMS candidates, will undertake two pre-entry assessments, including a practical exercise and an integrity assessment.
SMS applicants must complete the Nyukela Pre-entry Certificate endorsed by the National School of Government.
The cost of the Nyukela course is at the applicantโs own expense.
Shortlisted SMS candidates will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview.
A maximum of three SMS candidates may undergo psychometric assessments after the technical exercise and interview.
By applying, applicants consent to the collection, processing and storing of personal information in accordance with POPIA.
Successful candidates will be required to enter into an employment contract and performance agreement.
The Department reserves the right not to make appointments.
