National Treasury has announced new government job opportunities for South Africans who want to work in human resources and organisational development. The department is recruiting 12 Human Resources Administrators in Pretoria on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with applications closing on 08 May 2026 at 12:00 midday.

Human Resources Administrator vacancies at National Treasury

National Treasury said the Human Resources Administrator posts fall under the Corporate Services Division. The purpose of the role is to support human resources management across recruitment administration, the full recruitment cycle, organisational development and job evaluation.

This is a good opportunity for candidates with qualifications in human resources, public administration, social sciences, industrial psychology, operations management or management services.

Requirements for the National Treasury Human Resources Administrator posts

To apply, candidates must have:

  • Grade 12
  • A National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Operations Management, Management Services or Industrial Psychology
  • At least 2 years’ experience in human resources management, organisational development and HR administration

Applicants should also have knowledge and experience in:

  • Job Evaluation principles and processes
  • Recruitment administration
  • Onboarding and exit interview processes
  • Change management
  • PERSAL applications
  • Job design principles

Experience using recruitment technology such as e-Recruitment systems, ATS or PERSAL will be an added advantage.

Duties of the Human Resources Administrator

Successful candidates will be expected to support a wide range of HR functions, including:

  • Updating the Job Evaluation database with approved results
  • Linking job descriptions to the correct posts on the database
  • Supporting re-evaluation of jobs
  • Assisting with change management and employee engagement surveys
  • Providing support before positions are advertised
  • Coordinating Job Evaluation meetings
  • Assisting with the full recruitment cycle
  • Compiling appointment memos and letters
  • Preparing recruitment documents and job advertisements
  • Tracking recruitment documents for signatures
  • Updating candidate databases and applicant tracking systems
  • Handling enquiries from candidates
  • Scheduling shortlist and interview meetings
  • Supporting onboarding processes for new employees
  • Updating HR and recruitment reports
  • Assisting with technical projects and administrative support in the unit

National Treasury said all applicants must register or log in on the e-Recruitment platform to apply. The department only accepts hand-delivered or posted applications if an applicant can prove that they were unable to use the online system and that the ICT unit could not assist.

Applicants must ensure that their online profile is fully completed because the profile is regarded as equivalent to the new Z83 form.

Documents needed for application

Applicants must upload the required documents on the e-Recruitment system, including:

  • Copies of qualifications
  • National Senior Certificate or Matric certificate
  • South African ID
  • Other required supporting documents

These documents do not need to be certified at the application stage, but certification will be required before the interview.
