Director: Accounting Support and Reporting

Requirements

A Grade 12 certificate plus a Bachelor’s degree at NQF Level 7 in Commerce, Accounting or Economics. A CA or CIMA qualification will be an added advantage. Membership with SAICA, SAIPPA or IPFA and completed audit or accounting articles will also be advantageous. Applicants must have at least 5 years’ experience at middle or senior management level in an accounting environment. Knowledge of IAS, IFRS, IPSAS, GRAP, PFMA, MFMA, Treasury Regulations and related government prescripts is required.

Duties

Manage financial management and reporting support, resolve audit findings and accounting framework queries, support preparation of annual and interim financial statements, facilitate implementation of accounting frameworks and reforms, provide workshops and training, and assist with consolidation support for national and provincial government portfolios.

Deputy Director: PFMA Regulatory Environment

Requirements

Grade 12 plus a National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree at NQF Level 6 or 7 in Law, Accounting, Finance or Public Finance. A postgraduate qualification at NQF Level 8 will be an added advantage. Applicants need at least 4 years’ experience, including 2 years at Assistant Director level or equivalent, in developing norms and standards related to financial management policies. Strong knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations and public sector financial management processes is required.

Duties

Assist with development of PFMA norms, standards, regulations, guidelines and toolkits, conduct research on local and international financial management practices, draft responses to PFMA institutions, provide interpretation of PFMA provisions, support parliamentary queries, conduct capacity building sessions, and advise internal National Treasury divisions on PFMA matters.

Duties

Coordinate incoming and outgoing memoranda, maintain filing systems, support service delivery improvement, administer leave and logistics, verify claims and invoices, provide diary and travel support to the DDG, compile agendas and minutes, engage stakeholders, and assist with budget coordination and expenditure monitoring.
