Lecturer (Food Science & Technology)

Faculty: Applied Sciences
Campus: Athlone – Cape Town

Job Purpose

To teach Food Quality Assurance 2 and 3, Food Product 2, Food Project 3, and Food Research Project 4; to participate in and supervise research projects; and to support the Faculty in achieving its objectives in Teaching, Research, and Community Engagement.


Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Food Science & Technology
  • Base qualification in Food Science & Technology or equivalent
  • Three (3) years’ relevant experience, with at least one (1) year in teaching
  • Minimum one (1) year food industry experience in Quality and Food Safety Systems
  • Minimum one (1) year research experience as an assistant or coordinator at a university or research institution
