Community Services Department Vacancies

1. Environmental Health Practitioners (x2)

Areas: Raymond Mhlaba & Elliotdale
Task Grade: 12
Inclusive Salary Package: R582 732.00 – R735 684.00 per annum
Salary Scale: R406 252.82 – R527 320.03 per annum

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Environmental Health Studies
  • 3 years relevant experience
  • Professional skills and knowledge in Environmental Health
  • Computer skills
  • Valid Code B driver’s license
  • Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)

Key Duties

  • Rendering municipal health services
  • Ensuring sustainability of environmental conditions
  • Promoting human health
  • Managing sanitation programmes

2. Senior Disaster Management Officer (x1)

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Disaster Management (or equivalent)
  • 3–4 years as a Disaster Management Officer/Practitioner
  • DMISA registration (advantage)
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office)
  • Able-bodied
  • Valid Code B driver’s license
  • Ability to work outside normal hours

Key Duties

  • Disaster response coordination

Minimum Requirements

  • Fire Fighting Level One (FF1) accredited certificate OR
    Fire & Rescue Learnership
  • First Aid Level III
  • 1 year experience in Fire Services
  • Valid Code B driver’s license and good driving capability

Key Duties

  • Responding to emergencies (fires, accidents, rescues)
  • Operating rescue vehicles and equipment
  • Conducting fire inspections
  • Participating in public awareness and fire safety campaigns

Corporate Services Department Vacancy

5. Safety Officer: Occupational Health & Safety (x1)

Salary Scale: R291 547.71 – R378 371.80 per annum

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma in Safety Management (or equivalent)
  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices
  • Computer skills
  • Valid Code B driver’s license
  • SAMTRAC (advantage)

Key Duties

  • Implementing OHS & COIDA policies
  • Accident prevention programmes
  • Safety audits and risk assessments
  • Reporting and compliance monitoring
  • Coordinating safety training and awareness
