Post Title: Landscape Administrator Assistant (Level 5)

Location: Cederberg Complex, Clanwilliam
Division: Conservation Operations
Business Unit: Landscape West
Salary: R277 456 – R319 531 per annum
Type: Permanent

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Accounting and Mathematics (preferably Higher Grade or Pure Math)
  • 3 years’ experience in finance and administration
  • Valid driver’s license
  • No criminal record
  • Studying towards a financial qualification will be an advantage

Duties:

  • Financial & Budget Management: Budget preparation, expenditure tracking, reconciliation, petty cash, service provider payments
  • Supply Chain Management: Procurement, asset tagging, consumable stock control, Sage system usage
  • Human Resources: HR administration, attendance registers, payroll inputs, OHS compliance
  • Eco-Tourism Support: Permit reconciliation, income tracking, Wild Card sales reporting
  • Office & Fleet Management: Meeting logistics, document control, vehicle tracking and maintenance
  • Emergency Response: Administrative support during incidents like wildfires or floods

Competencies:

  • Project planning, attention to detail, teamwork
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, and manage deadlines
  • MS Office proficiency, bilingualism in at least two official Western Cape languages

Post Title: Field Ranger (Level 4)

Location: Swartberg World Heritage Site and Nature Reserve Complex, Oudtshoorn
Division: Conservation Operations
Business Unit: Landscape East
Salary: R237 046 – R272 581 per annum
Type: Permanent

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • At least 2 years’ experience in protected areas
  • Valid driver’s license with 3+ years’ experience
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, GIS)
  • Knowledge of ecological monitoring, law enforcement, firefighting
  • No criminal record

Duties:

  • Biodiversity Conservation: Ecosystem restoration, alien species removal, ecological task execution
  • Protected Area Support: Maintenance of vehicles, infrastructure, permit control, annual ops plan
  • Law Enforcement & Compliance: Carry out patrols, joint operations, and environmental law enforcement
  • Public Engagement: Eco-tourism support, educational activities, volunteer coordination
  • Disaster Management: Respond to wildfires, floods, rescues, and participate in OHS activities
  • Administration & Supervision: Report writing, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers

Recommendations:

  • National Diploma in Nature Conservation/Marine Science
  • Peace Officer’s Certificate, EMI Grade 5, Firefighting Certificate
  • 4×4 driving experience, ability to swim, ICS 100 Certification
