Post Title: Sector Specialist – Financial Services and Financial Inclusion

Department: Research and Innovation
Purpose:
Support both Listed and Unlisted teams by delivering high-quality, industry-leading research, strategic initiatives, and identifying investment opportunities in financial services and financial inclusion sectors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, or related
- 5–8 years’ experience covering financial services research (banks, insurers, lenders, etc.)
- Experience in portfolio-level implementation of research insights
- FAIS RE5 (or to be obtained within 6 months)
- Advantageous: MBA, CFA
Duties:
- Produce original research in financial services and financial inclusion
- Analyse macro trends impacting investments
- Develop valuation models and sector strategies
- Support due diligence and deal origination
- Provide executive briefing notes
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong financial modelling and valuation
- Sector and company analysis
- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication
- Bloomberg usage (preferred)
- Risk management, team collaboration, time management

Post Title: Sector Specialist – Agriculture & Agri-Business

Purpose:
Provide deep-dive research, identify unlisted investment opportunities, and support agriculture-related strategies and investment decisions for PIC portfolios.
Minimum Requirements:
- Postgraduate qualification (NQF 8) in Commerce, Finance, or related
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as Agricultural Economist or Agri-Business Specialist
- Prior experience in asset management/banking/DFI preferred
- FAIS RE5 (or to be obtained within 6 months)
- Advantageous: MBA, CFA
Duties:
- Produce proprietary research on agriculture and agri-processing
- Conduct thematic and strategic investment research
- Identify and evaluate unlisted agri-investment opportunities
- Support deal teams and post-investment turnaround strategies
- Supervise and mentor junior research analysts
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong industry knowledge in agriculture
- Report writing, strategic thinking, and presentation skills
- Analytical mindset and market intelligence evaluation
- Ability to lead and manage under pressure
