Purpose of the Job:

To conciliate, mediate, and arbitrate labour disputes and provide statutory services in terms of labour legislation. The role supports the CCMA’s mission of delivering effective dispute resolution and labour market services.


Key Performance Areas:

  • Conduct Conciliation, Arbitration, Con-Arb and In-limine hearings
  • Draft settlement agreements, arbitration awards and rulings
  • Complete case documentation and procedural requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Relevant NQF level 6 qualification (preferably in Labour Law) or
    Demonstrated 4+ years’ relevant experience in Industrial Relations, Labour Law, conciliation, arbitration, and facilitation
  • Sound knowledge of:
    • Labour Relations Act (LRA)
    • Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)
    • Employment Equity Act (EEA)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Computer literacy

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
  • Ethics, diplomacy, diversity awareness, interpersonal skills
  • Resilience and high emotional intelligence

Advantageous Qualification:

  • CCMA-endorsed Labour Dispute Resolution Practice (LDRP) qualification from any of the following partner institutions:
    • Nelson Mandela University
    • Stellenbosch University
    • University of the Free State
    • University of KwaZulu-Natal
    • University of the Western Cape
    • University of the Witwatersrand
    • North-West University
