Post Title: Conservation Manager Off Reserve (Level 10)
Location: Walkerbay Office, Hermanus
Salary: R750,656 – R867,963 per annum
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Nature Conservation (NQF 6)
- 5 years’ management experience in the conservation sector
- Valid EB driver’s licence
- Peace Officer and Environmental Management Inspectorate (EMI) Certificate
Key Responsibilities:
- Protected area expansion and off-reserve conservation management
- Law enforcement, compliance monitoring, and issuing fines
- Stakeholder and community engagement
- Financial and performance management of the component
- Policy, risk, and governance management
Post Title: Conservation Assistant (Level 2)
Location: Walkerbay Complex, Hermanus
Salary: R181,505 – R200,637 per annum
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with 2 years related experience
- Valid Code B driver’s license
- Computer literacy
- No criminal record
Key Responsibilities:
- Nature conservation tasks and ecological monitoring
- Eco-tourism support and environmental education
- Infrastructure and equipment maintenance
- Law enforcement support and permit compliance
- OHS participation and admin duties
Post Title: Field Ranger (Level 4)
Location: Marloth Nature Reserve, Swellendam
Salary: R237,046 – R272,581 per annum
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with 2 years’ experience in protected areas
- Valid driver’s license with 3+ years’ experience
- Law enforcement and ecological monitoring experience
- Bilingual in two official Western Cape languages
- No criminal record
Key Responsibilities:
- Ecological management and invasive species control
- Law enforcement and compliance operations
- Eco-tourism and public engagement
- Firefighting, search & rescue, and incident response
- Infrastructure maintenance
Post Title: Conservation Assistants X2 (Level 2)
Location: Jonkershoek Nature Reserve, Stellenbosch
Salary: R181,505 – R200,637 per annum
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with 2 years related experience
- Valid Code B driver’s license (2+ years)
- No criminal record
- Basic computer skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conservation fieldwork and ecological support
- Guest relations and reserve patrols
- Infrastructure maintenance and upkeep
- Environmental education and compliance monitoring
- OHS and administrative support
