Post Title: Senior Manager: Technical Services (Re-Advertisement)

Ref: WS01/052025
Centre: Centurion
Salary: R1 139 928.00 – R1 574 225.00 (Paterson Grade D5)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Engineering or related Degree (Post-graduate qualification preferred)
  • 10 years’ experience in electronic maintenance and support
  • 3 years’ people management experience
  • Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, stakeholder management
  • Experience in hardware/software R&D
  • ECSA registration is an advantage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee SAWS technical infrastructure (Radar, AWS, ARS, LDN)
  • Implement infrastructure sustainability and performance plans
  • Lead innovation and project management of technical installations
  • Maintain compliance with WMO and internal risk standards
  • Manage Opex/Capex budgets, contracts, SLAs, and departmental audits
  • Lead and mentor the technical team, promote SAWS values
  • Maintain strategic stakeholder relationships and audit compliance

Post Title: Senior Manager: Regional Training Centre

Centre: Centurion
Salary: R1 139 928.00 – R1 574 225.00 (Paterson Grade D5)

Minimum Education:

  • Master’s degree in Natural Sciences (Meteorology/Atmospheric Science)
  • PhD in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science (NQF 10) is an advantage

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 years in meteorological management, 3 at senior management level
  • 5 years as a trainer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic development of the SAWS Regional Training Centre
  • Oversee meteorological and CPD programme delivery and accreditation
  • Develop training aligned with SADC and WMO standards
  • Engage stakeholders and represent SAWS in local/international forums
  • Promote revenue-generating training programs
  • Manage library resources and RTC team performance
