Available Positions:

1. Assistant Director: Crime Prevention and Partnerships (Pinetown)

  • Ref. No.: CSL12/2025
  • Salary: R552 081 per annum (Level 10)
  • Requirements:
    • 3-year National Diploma (NQF level 6) or higher in Social/Police Science or a relevant equivalent qualification.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in crime prevention.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Willingness to work extended hours.
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and crime prevention policies.
    • Skills: Project management, communication, report writing, computer literacy, financial management, and conflict resolution.
  • Duties:
    • Promote community police relations and community safety structures.
    • Develop and maintain community policing forums and safety initiatives.
    • Strengthen partnerships with Civil Society Organisations.
    • Coordinate inter-departmental interventions for policing priorities.

2. Assistant Director: Crime Prevention and Partnerships (Mbonambi/Empangeni)

  • Ref. No.: CSL13/2025
  • Salary: R552 081 per annum (Level 10)
  • Requirements:
    • Same as for the Pinetown position.
  • Duties:
    • Similar to the Pinetown role, focusing on the Mbonambi/Empangeni region.

3. Driver (Pietermaritzburg)

  • Ref. No.: CSL14/2025
  • Salary: R183 279 per annum (Level 4)
  • Requirements:
    • Matric and a valid driver’s licence (Code C1 with valid PDP).
    • Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
    • Knowledge of motor vehicle operation procedures and maintenance.
  • Duties:
    • Transport passengers and deliver mail and documents.
    • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report defects.
    • Maintain records and logbooks for the vehicle and goods handled.
