Post Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Location: Menlyn, Pretoria
Reporting To: Chairperson of the Board

Role Purpose:
To lead TIA in executing its mandate of catalyzing high-impact innovations that drive socio-economic growth, quality of life, and national competitiveness.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Postgraduate (NQF 8) or preferably Master’s (NQF 9+) in Innovation, Business, Technology Management, Engineering, or similar
  • 10+ years’ Senior Executive experience, including:
    • Strategic leadership in complex organizations
    • Innovation and commercialization
    • Investment or fund portfolio management
    • Stakeholder engagement at national and international levels

  • Strategic intent & thought leadership
  • Stakeholder and relationship management
  • Investment & financial management
  • Risk & compliance

Knowledge Areas:

  • Innovation systems, PFMA, macroeconomic trends, fund management, technology investment, commercialisation processes

Post Title: Programme Manager: Living Labs

Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Type: Fixed-Term Contract (2 Years)
Reports To: Manager: Innovation for Inclusive Development

Role Purpose:
To develop and implement fund management strategies enabling the establishment of Living Labs across South Africa.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Innovation, Science/Engineering, or Finance (NQF 7)
  • 3 years’ experience in project management or development finance within an innovation environment

Key Knowledge Areas:

  • Fund & project management
  • Local economic development
  • Innovation and enterprise finance
  • Stakeholder and risk management

Duties Include:

  • Manage Living Labs project lifecycles (initiation to exit)
  • Coordinate stakeholders and ensure effective delivery
  • Track performance against budgets and timelines
  • Promote project outcomes and document best practices
  • Host South Africa’s Living Labs Community of Practice
