General Worker (x2) – Gladstone Section, Stables
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Proficiency in English (read, write, speak) plus an additional language.
- Physically fit (fitness test will be conducted).
- Chainsaw and Brushcutter experience (attach certificate/competency).
- Experience in horse riding, working in a Stable environment, and saddling horses.
Added Advantage
- Exposure to conservation work such as invasive plant clearing and fire management.
- Basic Firefighting Certificate.
- Knowledge of the OHS Act.
- Understanding of conservation regulations and procedures.
- First Aid Certificate.
Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying and reporting horse-related ailments.
- Support with vaccinations, feeding, grooming, and general horse care.
- Maintain stables, paddocks, office surroundings, gardens, and terrain.
- Clean and maintain riding equipment (saddles, bridles).
- Assist with visitor outrides.
- Erect and maintain fences.
- Support wildfire suppression, firebreak preparation, and prescribed burns.
- Assist with erosion control and invasive plant removal.
- Help maintain infrastructure such as buildings, hiking trails, and signage.
- Apply Occupational Health and Safety practices diligently.
