Role Overview
To provide independent assurance on the adequacy, efficiency, and effectiveness of internal controls to enhance governance and ensure compliance within the Public Protector South Africa.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Auditing or equivalent qualification
- Registration with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in conducting internal audits
- Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Sound understanding of IIA Standards, risk management, and corporate governance
- Proven experience in applying internal audit methodologies

Key Responsibilities

Role Overview
To provide high-level executive, administrative, and operational support to the Deputy Public Protector, ensuring the smooth functioning of the office through effective diary management, stakeholder coordination, records management, and confidential administrative support.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6/7) in Public Administration, Office Management, Secretarial Studies, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing administrative or secretarial support
- Experience in a legal and public sector environment (preferred)
- Computer literacy (Office 365)
- Valid driver’s licence (essential)
Competencies and Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Planning, organising, and project management skills
- Ability to conduct basic research and manage confidential information
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge of government protocol and processes
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Deputy Public Protector’s diary, correspondence, and communications
- Arrange travel, accommodation, and manage claims and petty cash
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and prepare accurate minutes and follow-ups
- Handle records management, submissions, and office administration
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders professionally
- Support stakeholder engagement, meetings, and events
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to SOPs
