- Centre: Eastern Cape Division of the High Court: Gqeberha
- Requirements:
- Grade 12 plus LLB degree (NQF 7) or equivalent four-year legal qualification recognised by SAQA.
- At least two (2) years’ legal experience obtained after qualification.
- Litigation or superior court experience is an added advantage.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of court procedures, case flow management, legislative framework, Batho Pele principles, and public service regulations.
- Skills in communication (verbal & written), report writing, research, problem-solving, planning, decision-making, and staff supervision.
- Duties:
- Process default judgments and ensure pleadings comply with court rules.
- Consider applications for default judgment in line with Rule 31(5).
- Handle taxations of bills of costs, opposed and unopposed matters, and deal with taxation reviews (Rule 48).
- Draft stated cases, replies, and submissions for the Judiciary.
- Analyse statistical data to identify risks and implement solutions.
- Manage performance data, reporting, and staff supervision.
- Address Presidential Hotline queries and respond to enquiries from Chapter 9 institutions.
