Post Title: Assistant Director: Municipal Support (x3 Posts)

Chief Directorate: Municipal Financial Management
Salary: R468 459 – R551 823 per annum (Level 09)
Contract: 12-month contract
Centre: Kimberley

Requirements:

  • NQF 6 or 7 qualification in Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing, Local Government, Public Management, or related
  • 2–3 years’ experience in public sector or project management
  • Knowledge of municipal finance legislation and compliance reporting
  • Advanced Excel, analytical and communication skills
  • Report writing, presentation, problem solving, and project coordination abilities

Duties:

Debt Relief Programme Monitoring:

  • Track and report each municipality’s compliance with debt relief conditions
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress reports
  • Identify and intervene in cases of non-compliance

Municipal Financial Support:

  • Ensure municipalities comply with water and electricity revenue collection targets
  • Conduct meetings to address implementation challenges
  • Coordinate technical assistance and training where needed

Compliance Certification:

  • Facilitate submission of monthly compliance certificates
  • Standardise monitoring tools and certification formats
  • Upload compliance documentation to National Treasury portals

Capacity Building:

  • Organise workshops and training on new tools and compliance methods
  • Monitor adherence to credit control policies and revenue management
