Cleaner (3-Year Fixed Contract)

Minimum Qualification & Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- At least 1 year experience in a cleaning environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Safety cleaning practices
- Time management, basic organising skills, reading ability
- Honesty, friendliness, consistency, attentiveness
- Attention to detail, customer focus, confidentiality, professionalism, reliability
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1) Daily activities
- Empty refuse bins in kitchens and offices (where necessary)
- Wipe and sweep under/around seats and tables
- Serve tea for managers and visitors/meetings; assist with lunch setup during meetings/events
- Clean and disinfect sinks and countertops
- Prepare boardrooms for meetings
- Wash dishes in the kitchen
2) Weekly activities
- Vacuum all office floors
- Wash glass doors, mirrors; dust wall pictures weekly
- Dust hard surfaces
- Clean inside and outside cupboards, fridges, and microwave ovens; remove unwanted items from fridges
- Water and dust plants
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is functional and kept clean
- Clean water coolers
- Re-organise furniture properly after cleaning
- Clean telephones, keyboards and computer screens
3) Monthly activities
- Spot clean carpets (once a month)
- Wash walls where necessary
- Monitor the use and availability of cleaning chemicals
- Clean empty offices before new employees occupy them (where necessary)
- Wash/polish/dust the grocery store and safe
- Coordinate grocery shopping and office grocery shopping monthly (arrange with driver in time)
