Post Title: Accountant (Fixed-Term Contract – 12 Months)
Salary Range: R700,288 – R1,050,432 per annum
Purpose of the Position:
Reporting to the Senior Manager: Financial Management, the Accountant will be responsible for the development, analysis, and preparation of financial reports and records. This includes maintaining financial systems in line with internal controls, preparing accurate reports, and driving continuous financial process improvement through technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow)
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting
- Ensure compliance with PFMA, MFMA, GAAP, and Treasury Regulations
- Manage accounts payable and receivable
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Conduct cost analysis and asset verification
- Process other revenue items and address audit findings
Minimum Requirements:
- Postgraduate Degree in Finance or Accounting (NQF Level 7)
- 4–6 years of experience in a financial reporting environment
- Strong knowledge of PFMA, MFMA, GAAP, Treasury Regulations
- Experience in financial statements preparation and audit processes
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Extensive SAP knowledge is an added advantage
- Professional registration with SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA or CIMA
