Post Title: Temporary Ethics Specialist
Reference: HDAES001
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Reporting To: Risk Manager
Remuneration: R47 558 – R72 466 per month (all-inclusive package)
Main Purpose:
To foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and trust across the HDA by ensuring compliance with ethical standards and organisational values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ethics Risk Management
- Assist with implementing anti-fraud, corruption, whistleblowing procedures, and fraud prevention.
- Analyse and evaluate ethics-related policies in alignment with HDA’s codes and best practices.
- Develop awareness programmes and embed ethical decision-making.
- Guide employees and leadership on ethics-related matters.
- Conduct lifestyle reviews and monitor consequence management.
- Administer ethics surveys and assess reported unethical conduct.
- Support Internal Audit with preliminary fraud assessments.
2. Monitoring
- Monitor compliance with ethical standards and regulations.
- Maintain confidential systems for handling ethics complaints.
- Oversee investigations into ethical misconduct.
3. Reporting
- Prepare reports for EXCO, Social and Ethics Committee, Audit and Risk Committee, and the Board.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
- B-degree in Commerce, Law, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, or Compliance
- Ethics Officer Certification Program (EOCP) Accredited
Experience:
- At least 5 years in ethics compliance
- Experience with PFMA Public Entities is an advantage
