Seasonal Worker: Beach Safety Officer (x60)

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
  • Valid certificate in one of the following:
    • Law Enforcement
    • Peace Officer
    • Security
    • Relevant safety qualification
  • No criminal record
  • Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans/English/Xhosa)

Key Performance Areas

  • Perform all law enforcement duties as per instruction sheet
  • Maintain strict access control to municipal facilities and beaches
  • Conduct vehicle and/or foot patrols in the CBD and at beaches
  • Enforce municipal by-laws to prevent incidents
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations
  • Conduct bag checks and screen members of the public for safety
  • Compile reports and operate under the direction of senior staff

Special Conditions

  • Must be physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods
  • Must be willing to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts
  • Must have own transport to and from work
  • Must maintain neatness and proper uniform standards
  • Must be able to work well in a team and exercise discretion when needed
