Senior Vetting Investigator

Salary: R582 444 per annum (Level 10)

Requirements:
- NQF 6 or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences/Policing/Forensic Investigations (or related).
- 3–5 years’ experience in Vetting Investigations and Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC).
- Top Secret Security Clearance (valid or in process).
- Valid driver’s licence.
- SSA Vetting Course (mandatory); SAPS/Defence Vetting course (advantage).
- Sound knowledge of NSIA, GILA, MISS, POPIA, PAIA, Public Service regulations/policies, PFMA, accountability and ethics.
- Skills: conflict management, planning, organising, project execution.
Duties:
- Conduct and manage vetting fieldwork investigations in line with prescripts.
- Manage and conduct PSC internally; deliver awareness presentations on Information Security, Vetting and PSC.
- Advise on personnel security; meet vetting/PSC targets and keep management updated via statistics.
- Administer vetting and PSC processes; manage stakeholder engagements and review MoUs at least every five years.
- Establish and manage SCM processes for procuring PSC service providers (pre-employment/company screening).

Vetting Investigator

Requirements:
- National Diploma or B Degree in Security Management/Administration, Policing, Forensic Investigations, or Office Management & Technology.
- 2–3 years’ experience in an investigation environment.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Must obtain Top-Secret Security Clearance within 1 year of appointment.
- Public sector experience investigating security breaches, fraud and corruption (advantage).
- Strong communication (written, verbal, listening), integrity, ethics, reliability; willingness to travel extensively.
Duties:
- Provide administrative support to the Vetting sub-directorate.
- Conduct vetting investigations and compile reports.
- Investigate security threats/breaches in terms of the NSIA; investigate fraud and corruption.
- Conduct PSC; administer filing systems for screening/vetting documents; manage internal/external enquiries.
- Present security screening & vetting awareness sessions.
