1. Senior Forester: Woodlands & Indigenous Forest Management
Reference: BC20/2025
Salary: R397 116 per annum
Centre: Eastern Cape
Requirements:
- National Diploma (NQF6) in Forestry, Nature Conservation, or related field.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in Indigenous Forest Management or similar.
- Sound knowledge of relevant Acts: National Forests Act (NFA), National Veld and Forest Fire Act (NVFFA), NEMA, NEMBA, PSA, and PFMA.
- Strong skills in GIS techniques, financial management, leadership, and environmental assessment.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Duties:
- Implement infrastructure maintenance plans for forest roads, buildings, and facilities.
- Support preservation of forest biodiversity and rehabilitation of degraded areas.
- Apply the National Forests Act and related legislation.
- Record and monitor rare, threatened, and endangered species.
- Conduct environmental awareness campaigns and manage stakeholder relations.
- Supervise staff and manage risk/security in the forest estate.

2. Project Coordinator: EP Non-Infrastructure Programmes (x3 Posts)

Requirements:
- National Diploma (NQF6) in Natural Science or Environmental Management.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Project Management, Alien Vegetation Control, and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Good communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Duties:
- Develop strategic clearing plans and Annual Plans of Operation (APO).
- Facilitate project implementation through stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with Working for Water standards.

Requirements:

Duties:
- Implement regulatory processes and verify catch permits.
- Process permits for fish processing, exemptions, exports, and imports.

4. Environmental Officer Production Grade A: GHG Inventory and Systems

Salary: R343 842 per annum

Requirements:
- National Diploma (NQF6) in Environmental Science, Natural Science, or related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience.
- Knowledge of atmospheric chemistry, climate change mitigation, and 2006 IPCC guidelines.
- Skills in data analysis, GHG inventory review, and report writing.
Duties:
- Lead compilation and review of South Africa’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory.
- Support implementation of the national system for GHG inventory.
- Address data gaps and implement improvement programmes.
- Administer the national GHG emissions reporting programme.
