Post Title: Legal Officer x2

Salary Level: 10 – R527 298.00 per annum (Excluding Benefits)

Locations & Reference Numbers:

  • Free State – Bloemfontein (Ref No: CGE LEG – FS 04/2025)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and manage gender-related complaints.
  • Represent complainants in Equality Court.
  • Conduct litigation and mediation.
  • Monitor court operations in the province.
  • Draft legal input on provincial legislation from a gender perspective.
  • Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Support the implementation of the Annual Performance Plan.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B. Proc or LLB degree (LL.M advantageous).
  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court with at least 3 years’ post-admission experience.
  • Experience in Human Rights law and litigation.
  • Knowledge of the Constitution and Equality Court operations.
  • Sound understanding of gender issues.
