Position:JPC Facilities Cleaner (Short-Term Contract – EPWP, not exceeding 8 months)
Remuneration:R150.00 per day (all-inclusive stipend)

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 7 qualification.
  • One (1) year cleaning experience.
  • Must be capable of carrying out the physical aspects of the position.

Primary Function

To provide an efficient and effective cleaning service for City-owned facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.


Key Performance Areas

  • Clean and disinfect taxi ranks, Rea Vaya stations, and trading areas.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, floors, and stairs.
  • Maintain public convenience facilities, open spaces, and walkways.
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and materials are properly maintained.

Leading Competencies

  • Basic ability to read and write.

Core Competencies

  • General housekeeping skills.
  • Knowledge and practice of Batho Pele principles and ethics.
  • Professionalism and teamwork.
