Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 plus a relevant National Diploma (NQF Level 6)
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a related administrative field (preferably in a large-scale organisation)
  • Understanding of the public sector environment (advantageous)

Primary Function

To provide administrative and document management support to ensure efficient handling of information, correspondence, and filing systems in accordance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation.


Key Performance Areas

  • Provide effective administrative support to ensure a smooth document and information system.
  • Handle mail correspondence, classify, register, scan, and save all records in the electronic system.
  • File, retrieve, and dispose of obsolete documents and files as per approved retention schedules.
  • Assist with general office administration duties.
  • Manage document archiving, mailroom functions, and monthly compliance reports to Group EXCO.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of City of Johannesburg regulations and the National Archiving Act (NAA)
